Heather McIver, L.Ac., M.Ed, MSOM, Dipl.OM
Heather McIver graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder,
CO. She opened Stillpoint Acupuncture in 2001 and has been thrilled to
see the popularity of Chinese Medicine grow since then. A major
influence on her practice was her two-year course of study with Lonny
Jarrett, author of Nourishing Destiny: The Inner Tradition of Chinese
Medicine, and nationally recognized authority on integrating both
Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture into a
cohesive practice style. Heather has made two trips to Beijing, China
where she has learned from accomplished doctors of acupuncture and
Chinese herbal medicine. She has specialized training in oncology,
pediatrics and pain management. But her true specialty is the treatment
of women's health issues, including menstrual problems, fertility and
pregnancy-related complaints. Heather is the mother of two children and
enjoys writing, reading and good food!

Diane Gross, M.S.O.M., Dip. OM, L.Ac., CT, CI
Diane
Gross graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College with a Master of
Science in Oriental Medicine. She was awarded her Diplomate in Oriental
Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) demonstrating competency in foundations of
oriental medicine, Chinese herbology, acupuncture, point location and
biomedicine. Diane holds a license as an acupuncturist in North
Carolina and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico. While Diane
studied both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, she
specializes in the Japanese treatment style. She also has been trained
in Chinese herbology, Shiatsu and Tui Na massage. She has extensive
training as well in other energetic modalities of healing including
Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Reconnective Healing and
Healing Touch. Diane is also a nationally certified sign language
interpreter who is fluent in the use of American Sign Language. She has
a strong background in business and has managed corporations, both for
profit and non-profit, as well her own company. She has been married 31
years to her husband, Richard and has two grown children.

Kimberly LeBrun, MSOM, LAc, Dipl OM
Kimberly
LeBrun is a licensed practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese herbal
medicine in North Carolina. Ms. LeBrun is nationally certified in
Oriental Medicine which includes certifications in Acupuncture, Chinese
Herbology, Biomedicine, and Foundations of Oriental Medicine. She
received her Master’s degree from Southwest Acupuncture College in
Boulder, CO. Prior to becoming a Chinese Medical Practitioner, Kimberly
attended the University of Montana, where she obtained a B.S. in Public
Health, Health Promotion. She has extensive knowledge with nutrition
and supplements. Kimberly has studied Traditional Chinese medicine and
Kiiko Matsumoto/Japanese treatment styles of acupuncture. She
specializes in treating pain, digestive disorders, dermatological
issues, insomnia, oncology support, and women’s health, including
menstrual disorders, menopause, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum
health. Kimberly enjoys reading, music, and healthy food.

Jennifer Langdon, L.Ac., M.Ac., Dipl.Ac.
Jennifer Langdon graduated from Tai Sophia (formerly, The Traditional
Acupuncture Institute) in Columbia, Maryland in 2001 with a Masters
Degree in Acupuncture. She is nationally certified, is an NCCAOM
Diplomat, and is also a certified acupuncture detoxification
specialist. Her extensive training in the healing arts embraces several
traditions including yoga, Reiki, Toyahari, lifestyle coaching,
nutrition, and strength and flexibility. She draws upon aspects of Five
Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the spirit of creative
partnership with her patients to assist them in moving toward health
and wellness. Jennifer's clinical practice and advanced studies in
Classical Chinese Medicine focus on preventative medicine with a
special emphasis on women's health. Jennifer has been active in
community outreach programs educating groups about acupuncture and
health and wellness and is available for speaking engagements. She is
the mother of two grown daughters.

Melissa Peet, Certified Yoga Instructor
Melissa
joined Stillpoint in late 2007 and took on the role of Office Manager
in the summer of 2008. She worked in accounting for a large
corporation until 1996, when she had her first son. During the 10
years spent as an at-home mom, Melissa studied yoga and began
teaching in 2001. Along with yoga, Melissa enjoys reading
fiction, playing board games with her sons and navigating the the
ever-changing, always-exciting road of parenthood.

Sandy Crossley
Sandy
came to the practice in February of 2008 to help with our community
clinic. After a long career with AT&T she enjoys the 2-3 days she
spends at Stillpoint, especially the calm, nurturing atmosphere it
offers. Sandy loves reading, gardening, movies and concerts and
spending time with her two daughters and three grandchildren. Busier
now than she ever expected to be in retirement, Sandy hopes to continue
working, learning and being part of the Stillpoint “experience” for
many years.

Explanation of licenses and certifications:
L.Ac — Licensed Acupuncturist
This
license indicates that one is approved to practice acupuncture by the
N.C. Acupuncture Licensing Board. To receive a license in North
Carolina , one must have: a) graduated from an accredited, three year
postgraduate acupuncture college, b) passed the national acupuncture
exam (sponsored by the NCCAOM) and c) passed a clean needle technique
course. This license must be renewed every two years by submitting at
least 40 hours of continuing education.
Dipl.Ac — Diplomate of Acupuncture
This designation indicates that one has passed the national exam for Acupuncture.
Dipl.CH — Diplomate of Chinese Herbology
This designation indicates that one has passed the national exam in Chinese Herbology.
Dipl.OM — Diplomate of Oriental Medicine
This certification indicates that one has successfully completed the
above two exams plus a number of hours in Western biomedicine.
Obtaining certification in Oriental Medicine assumes certification in
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
MSOM — Master of Science in Oriental Medicine
This degree signifies that one has successfully completed a three- to
four-year program in Oriental Medicine, including acupuncture, Chinese
herbology and related subjects.
